Leftfield - 30 Years Of Leftism Salutes Mix

LEFTFIELD - 30 YEARS OF LEFTISM SALUTES MIX (320kbs-m4a/70mb/30mins)

BBC Radio 6 Music broadcast: 4th April 2025

Leftfield's Neil Barnes celebrates 30 years since the acclaimed debut album Leftism with a special Salutes Mix.

Released in 1995, the acclaimed electronic album featured tracks like Release The Pressure, Song Of Life and Open Up with John Lydon. It was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize and a review from NME at the time said "Leftfield have returned to save the night." It is credited for showing that dance music could work in an album format and the live performances that followed had a reputation for being so loud that plaster fell from the roof of Brixton Academy during one show.

Leftfield are playing live later this year, including a set at Glastonbury Festival and their ‘Celebrating 35 Years Of Original Bass And Beats; Leftism And Beyond’ live tour.

The Salutes Mix is an half hour mix where we can tip our hat to an artist or album celebrating an anniversary.

Leftfield - Cut For Life [Hard Hands]
Leftfield - Afro Left [Hard Hands]
Leftfield - Storm 3000 [Hard Hands]
Leftfield & HALLIDAY - Original (Live Dub) [Hard Hands]
