This Late Night Prom tribute will celebrate the works of 1960s pop icon turned 21st century avant garde, Scott Walker, performed for the first time with live orchestral backing.
Among the special guests are musician and 6 Music presenter Jarvis Cocker, singer-songwriter John Grant, vocalist Susanne Sundfør and guitarist/vocalist Richard Hawley.
They will join the Heritage Orchestra on stage under pioneering conductor Jules Buckley in a celebration of Walker's music from 1967 to 1970. The show will include works such as Copenhagen and It's Raining Today.
An icon of the 1960s, Scott Walker has travelled from Walker Brothers teen idol to avant-garde contemporary musician, influencing artists from David Bowie and Leonard Cohen to Goldfrapp along the way.
Richard Hawley says: "Singing a song of Scott's in the shower is major joy.... well for me anyway... but to be asked to sing a few on a stage like the Royal Albert Hall is a thing of wonder, I hope I do Scott's genius credit."
Susanne Sundfør says: "As a life-long fan of Scott Walker, I'm very honoured to be performing some of his music at the BBC Proms in July. I'm incredibly excited to share his enduring talent alongside John Grant, Jarvis Cocker and Richard Hawley, and to be able to take part in such an iconic event in British culture.".

Ahead of the Songs of Scott Walker Prom on Tuesday 25th July, there's a chance to hear an episode of the Radio 2 Arts Programme first broadcast in January 1996, in which Allan Clarke, lead singer of the Hollies, presents a look at the career of a reluctant star, from juvenile leads on Broadway, through the hits of the Walker Brothers to his 1995 album Tilt. With the help of fellow Walker Brother, Gary Leeds, former agent Ed Bicknell, engineer and producer Peter Walsh and Scott's friends from the 1960s Dave Dee and Ralph Gurnett.

Jarvis welcomes elusive singer-songwriter Scott Walker back to the Sunday Service, ahead of the late-night BBC Prom The Songs Of Scott Walker, which takes place at the Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday 25 July.
As well as chatting about Scott's immense body of work, Jarvis gets tips on how to approach his role within this Prom and corrections to some of the lyrical mistakes he's found online whilst researching.
There are also anecdotes about Scott's time prior to the success of The Walker Brothers when he was a bass player in a Californian surf band called The Routers and an insight into his friendship with the late David Bowie who was a big champion of Scott's solo work having covered Nite Flights on his own Black Tie, White Noise album.
