One of the most accomplished and influential songwriters around, over the course of a career spanning three decades, Richard is also a two-time Ivor Novello Award winner for Songwriter of the Year and Outstanding Contribution to British Music.
The Verve released four studio albums: 'A Storm in Heaven', 'A Northern Soul', 'Urban Hymns' and 'Forth'. 'Urban Hymns' brought us tracks such as 'Bitter Sweet Symphony', 'The Drugs Don’t Work', 'Lucky Man', and 'Sonnet', and became one of the biggest selling albums in UK history. In 2008, the album 'Forth' peaked at number one on the UK Albums chart.
Richard's solo career continued that acclaim, with his debut number one 'Alone With Everybody' and all five subsequent studio albums landing in the top five. His new album, 'Lovin' You', is out in October.
After performing in the Radio 2 Piano Room earlier this year, he was also a special guest on the Oasis tour - the biggest stadium tour of the year. After his recent spate of sellout gigs, he has announced more live UK dates for 2026.

Led Zeppelin icon and Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Robert Plant - regarded as one of rock music's greatest vocalists - chooses ten of his favourite songs in this week's Tracks of My Years.
As part of Led Zeppelin, Robert is known for classics tracks such as "Stairway to Heaven", "Whole Lotta Love", and "Kashmir", but he also embarked on a successful solo career after the break up of the band, with twelve studio albums, two compilation albums, three video albums, four collaborative albums, and 44 singles to date.
One of Robert's most notable collaborations has been his duet album with Alison Krauss - called "Raising Sand' - which won five Grammy Awards including Album and Record of the Year.
He's also collaborated with bands Strange Sensation, Band Of Joy and Sensational Shape Shifters, and in September, Robert is set to release a new album with his latest group Saving Grace, with a North American tour planned for the Autumn.

He has won awards for his portrayal of Batman nemesis The Joker in several animated movies, and he's appeared in several of the popular Wing Commander video games. To celebrate the release of the Telepathic Fish compilation, we have a special 'O Is For Orange 2025' Bleep Mix from DJ Food.
"A version of this mix first appeared in 2013 at a night to celebrate the release of Boards of Canada’s 'Tomorrow’s Harvest' LP release. It then morphed into an Audio Visual DJ set that I toured around the UK in 2019, playing the Bluedot festival to a packed tent that year. The idea was to thread Boards of Canada's music with original sample sources, tracks they'd remixed, fan remixes or songs that fitted their sonic blueprint.
I recently resurrected and refined the mix for a gig booking, updating it into a new version. This happened to be a week before I was due to deliver my guest mix to Bleep and it seemed to be too good an opportunity to pass up. I abandoned the mix I was going to deliver and put down the first hour of the 'Orange' set including a video mix to go with it. I used stem splitting apps to deconstruct some of the tracks into unique versions before video mixing it all on turntables using Serato then editing the footage in Premiere." - DJ Food

MC Yallah is a Kenyan rapper based in Uganda, and an affiliate of Nyege Nyege. Recently she teamed up with Debmaster to release new album Gaudencia on the Hakuna Kulala label. The Uganda-based Kenyan artist MC Yallah's 13-track third album gets its title from her full name, Yallah Gaudencia Mbidde, and serves as the follow up to 2023's Yallah Beibe, which also features French producer and frequent collaborator Debmaster.

Earlier this year Matt Anniss released the book Join The Future - UK Bleep & Bass 1988-91. Some five years in the making it tells the story of the rise of British dance music during the late 80s and 90s. To coincide with this book, he has put together a compilation with some of the key tracks during this period. To celebrate the release of this compilation we have a special mix from Optimo (Espacio) founding member JD Twitch focussing on these genres Bleep Techno & Bass. JD Twitch effortlessly pulls together classics from the genre starting with the seminal Test Four from Richard H. Kirk and DJ Parrot, through his own remix of Nightmares On Wax's Dextrous, LFO, Tough Little Unit and Ital Rockers. Sitting neatly alongside these blueprints, we have modern productions on labels indebted to this sound such as Batu's 2017 Hessle Audio cut Marius, I-iii's Livity Sound release and Luca Lozano's And It Was Good - released through Twitch's own Optimo Trax.

George Orwell described his short novel as a fairy story, but it's a satire on the Soviet Communist system.
But 'Animal Farm' still reads as a powerful warning despite all the changes in world politics since it was first published in 1945.
Of course, there is no real George Orwell - it was the pen name of Eric Blair - a writer and political commentator.
Ever since his early death in 1950, he has been the darling of some on both the left and the right of British politics - whilst being reviled by others.
For all the beautiful simplicity of his writing and storytelling Orwell/Blair is a contradictory figure - an anti-establishment, pro-English, ex-Etonian ex-policeman and socialist, who was ardently anti-authoritarian. He was as anti-fascist as he was anti-communist, a former Spanish Civil War soldier who was anti-war but pro the Second World War.
The author dramatised his own novel
One night, on an English farm, Major the boar recounts his vision of an utopia where his fellow creatures own the land along with the means of production and are no longer the slaves of humans.
Before long, his dream comes true and for a short while all animals really are equal. But the clever pigs educate themselves and soon learn how to extend their own power, inevitably at the expense of the rest of the community.
