Desert Island Discs Revisited: Longplay - Lord Coe

DESERT ISLAND DISCS REVISITED: LONGPLAY - LORD COE (320kbs-m4a/133mb/58mins)

BBC Radio 4 Extra broadcast: 5th March 2023

Lord Coe, former athlete and now Chairman of the London Organising Committee for the 2012 Olympics, reveals his castaway choices with Kirsty Young.

In a specially extended edition for BBC Radio 4 Extra, he shares his life story and explains his musical, book and luxury choices.

Back in 1980, Sebastian Coe's rivalry with fellow middle-distance runner Steve Ovett enraptured the nation at the Moscow Olympic Games.

After retiring from the racetrack, he enjoyed a career in politics.

For the past eight years though, his focus has been on the Olympics once again - not on individual medals this time, but ensuring the 2012 games in London are a success.

BOOK CHOICE: Such Sweet Thunder - Benny Green on Jazz
