THE ANNIE NIGHTINGALE SHOW - 6 MUSIC 10.09.17 (320kbs-m4a/253mb/1hr50mins)
BBC Radio 6 Music broadcast: 10th September 2017
Following the sad news of Annie's passing, this is another chance to hear when Annie joined 6 Music to present a celebration of 50 years of Radio 1, playing music from the past and present. Annie Nightingale is best known as Britain's first female DJ on Radio 1 and was the station's longest-serving broadcaster.
This week's show contains tracks by Wiley, Westworld, Scott Walker and Stormzy amongst others. She also digs into her own archive to bring you an interview she conducted with Mike Skinner of The Streets back in 2015.
The artist Kae Tempest is referred to as Kate Tempest during this programme – the conversation was recorded in 2015 and first broadcast in 2017, before Kae changed their name.
