Danny Rampling - 'Shoom' Summer Of Love Classics Mix

DANNY RAMPLING - 'SHOOM' SUMMER OF LOVE CLASSICS MIX (320kbs-m4a/45mb/19mins)
BBC Radio 6 Music broadcast: 18th August 2018

2018 marks the 30th anniversary of the 'Second Summer of Love' - one of the most extraordinary musical movements the UK has ever experienced.

Back in the Summer of 1987 four young DJs called Danny Rampling, Paul Oakenfold, Nicky Holloway and Johnny Walker went on holiday to Ibiza and experienced "Superclub" Amnesia for the first time. They were introduced to the unique and eclectic style of DJ Alfredo Fiorito's sets which included pop, soul, funk, jazz, and emerging house music, then being exported from America. The friends returned home to London and set about recreating their experience and the sounds that Alfredo, the father of the Balearic Beat, had introduced them to. Danny Rampling, who set up what is regarded as the UK's first Balearic rave night ‘Shoom’ (which took place in a disused fitness centre in Southwark, South London) provides Nemone's Electric Ladyland with an exclusive, super-nostalgic Shoom Summer of Love classics mix.

The Rolling Stones - Sympathy For The Devil
The Clash - Magnificent Seven
Raze - Break For Love
Raúl Orellana - Real Wild House
Split Second - Flesh
The Gibson Brothers - What A Life
The Woodentops - Why Why Why
J.M. Silk - I Can’t Turn Around
