He's a Banksy super-fan, and in this series he, and his soundman Duncan, get closer than close to Banksy's secret world - telling the story of the graffiti kid who made spraying walls into high art, the household name who is completely anonymous, the cultural phenomenon who bites the hand that feeds him.

Billie Piper is castaway on a desert island by Lauren Laverne.
Billie is an Olivier Award winning actor and former pop star.
She was born in Swindon in September 1982, and her parents nurtured her interests in dance and drama from a young age.
After a winning a scholarship to study at the Sylvia Young Theatre School, she moved to London as a young teenager, leaving the family home. By the age of 15, she was a full time pop star. She became the youngest female artist ever to go straight to number one in the UK charts when her debut single was a hit in 1998.
Just three years later, after releasing more successful singles and two albums and touring furiously to promote them, Billie left the music industry. She married the DJ Chris Evans, and found herself the frequent subject of newspaper stories.
She decided to turn to acting, her first love, and by 2005 she was back in the spotlight playing Rose Tyler in the BBC's revival of Doctor Who.
Since then she has taken on a wide range of acclaimed screen and stage roles, most notably picking up all six available awards for Best Actress – including the Olivier Award – when she starred in a new version of Lorca's play Yerma. Her recent TV series I Hate Suzy, which she co-created, has been BAFTA nominated and she has also written and directed her first film, Rare Beasts.

Actor David Tennant is castaway on a desert island by Kirsty Young.
He has been voted the best Doctor Who ever and has redefined the Time Lord for a generation of parents and children.
As a child he was a huge fan of the programme; he reckons he only ever missed one episode, wore a long stripy scarf and queued up to meet Tom Baker and get his autograph.
As a role, he says, it appealed not just to his adult self but to the eight-year-old boy who was just below the surface.

Mark Chapman tells the inside story of one of Britain's oldest football clubs as it faces its most controversial season and a nail-biting fight against relegation
As the run of poor results continues, pressure on manager Frank Lampard grows and questions are asked about his future. Conor Coady finds himself defending for the club both on and off the pitch as he faces the media. Meanwhile, the club puts out a controversial statement and relationships with fans go from bad to worse. At the end of last season, loyal fans turned out to support the team as they arrived at Goodison Park, playing an important role in keeping the team in the Premier League. Are they prepared to do the same again?
Everton are mid-table in the Women's Super League. We're in the changing room as manager Brian Sorenson and the team prepare to face Reading.
It's January and Everton are in the bottom three of the Premier League. After more disappointing results, Frank Lampard's time runs out. Club Captain Seamus Coleman opens up about what it's like to lose yet another manager. We meet new gaffer Sean Dyche on his first day at Finch Farm. He's the club's eighth manager in seven years. Will he be the one to turn things around?
On Liverpool's waterfront, work progresses on Everton's new stadium. The club needs a home that's fit for a top flight football club. But the ambitious and expensive project comes with financial risks too.
With new manager Sean Dyche in charge, Everton start winning some much-needed points. We deep-dive into the gaffer's techniques with players Tom Davies and Seamus Coleman. Dyche opens up as he chats with his best friend on and off the pitch: assistant manager and lifelong Evertonian Ian Woan.
In the kitchen, Head chef Tom Kenton plans the week's meals, while performance nutritionist Lloyd Parker looks ahead to Ramadan with midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure and goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.
Sean Dyche prepares his team for one of the biggest fixtures in the club's calendar: the world-renowned Merseyside Derby, an event that awakens deep bonds and rivalries.
The women's team has a Derby too and this year it will be held at Goodison Park. Midfielder Megan Finnigan reflects on the game and the press attention she's received since the profile of women's football has risen.
The gaffer's honeymoon period seems to be over, as Everton struggle to win points and move up the table. Away from the pitch, there's bad news when it's alleged that the club has breached Financial Fair Play regulations. Fans continue to call for change at the top.
Injury has contributed to the club's difficulties this season, with star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin playing in only 7 of Dyche's 18 games. Players Andros Townsend and Tom Davies reflect on their coping strategies for struggles with physical and mental health.
With just four weeks of the season to go, everyone inside Finch Farm, from the grounds-people to the kit manager, pull together. Will it be enough to save Everton from relegation? After a crucial penalty save against Leicester, goalkeeper Jordan Pickford takes us through how analytics play a role in his prep. While everyone waits for the final result, it's time for some goodbyes.
Mark Chapman reflects on the season with Director of Football Kevin Thelwell, who opens up about how personal this job is for him. This interview was recorded on June 8th 2023.
Giulia Bould reflects on the season with manager Sean Dyche and club captain Seamus Coleman. She then takes Mark Chapman behind the scenes of the production. These interviews were recorded in July 2023.

It's been a dramatic 12 months for Sean Dyche since he took the Everton job. He saved the club from relegation on the final day of the 22/23 season, saw the Board leave, the death of Everton's longest serving Chairman in more than a century, two PSR breaches and a 10 point deduction. As he marks one year as "the Gaffer", Giulia Bould went to Finch Farm to catch up with Sean Dyche...
Dame Judi Dench reflects on her career playing Shakespearean roles on stage and screen across seven decades.
Judi Dench has spent her career bringing to life a hugely diverse array of characters. But she is, first and foremost, one of the greatest classical actors of our times. Her love of the work of William Shakespeare and the insight she has gained into his plays over the course of her career is explored in her new book The Man Who Pays The Rent, written with actor and director Brendan O'Hea.
In a special edition of This Cultural Life to mark the 400th anniversary of the publication of the First Folio in a BBC season of programmes celebrating Shakespeare, Dame Judi talks to John Wilson at her home in Surrey. With intimate insights into her relationship with the work of William Shakespeare, she recalls her pivotal experiences and influences that helped steer her career as one of Britain's greatest classical actors. After seeing her older brother act in a school production of Macbeth, she knew Shakespeare was for her. She remembers her very first professional stage role, playing Ophelia in an Old Vic production of Hamlet in 1957. Despite bad reviews and losing the role when the production went on tour, she was undeterred. Joining the RSC, she worked her way through many of Shakespeare's plays, including a landmark production of Macbeth in 1976, directed by Trevor Nunn. Dame Judi recalls her Olivier award-winning performance of Lady Macbeth opposite Ian McKellen, and her later role of Cleopatra opposite Anthony Hopkins in 1987 at the National Theatre. Remembering her last stage appearance in a Shakespeare play, she discusses her dual roles of Paulina and Time in A Winter's Tale, and how her degenerative eyesight condition affected her performance.
Werner Herzog is one of the most idiosyncratic, original and prolific filmmakers of modern times, having made nearly 80 films over six decades. His features include Fitzcarraldo, Aguirre Wrath of God and Rescue Dawn, and his documentaries include the multi award-winning Grizzly Man, Cave Of Forgotten Dreams and Into the Abyss. Werner Herzog productions are the stuff of cinema legend, with stories of audacious shoots in inaccessible locations. He's also written several books, including a newly published memoir called Every Man For Himself And God Against All.
Speaking to John Wilson from Los Angeles where he lives, Werner Herzog recalls his impoverished childhood in a remote Bavarian valley at the end of the Second World War. He says that, as a teenager, his discovery of a book about the Lascaux cave paintings was ‘like a bolt of lightning' to his creative imagination, and led to him making a documentary film about prehistoric cave art many years later. He describes how his films often start with a vivid or unusual image, and how he seeks to capture a sense of awe at the power of the natural world. Werner Herzog discusses the extremely arduous and dangerous conditions in which he made some of his best known films, including Fitzcarraldo and four other films starring the temperamentally volatile lead actor Klaus Kinski. Known for his deadpan, Bavarian-accented narration of his own documentary films, Herzog also reflects on how his distinctive voice has led to him being cast in menacing roles in Hollywood films, including Jack Reacher alongside Tom Cruise, and even a cameo in The Simpsons.
As part of the celebrations for Joni Mitchell's 80th birthday, this programme describes the legendary singer/songwriter's life and career - in her own words.
Over a singular career that has spanned many different cultural eras, Joni Mitchell has explored in public, to an almost unprecedented degree, exactly what it means to be female and free, in full acknowledgement of all its injustice and joy.
And there are two major physically and emotionally charged life changing events that defined Joni's artistic development and deeply influenced her creative output - a severe bout of polio as a child and an unwanted pregnancy as a teenager, which forced Joni to support her and her baby as a destitute single mother. Fearing her inability to cope, Joni gave the baby up for adoption.
The lessons learned from dealing with these traumas have shaped every personal and professional decision Joni has ever made, recalling them as transformative, character-building episodes that caused her to develop self-reliance and a slow, almost meditative way of being in the world.
With the same determination Joni used to prove to doctors that she would walk again, she set about proving that a woman could make it in the patriarchal world of folk music and very quickly blazed a trail as a fiercely independent spirt through one of the most exciting and influential periods in modern music, producing a catalogue of deeply influential albums.
As her success grew, so did her strength and, as we'll hear, Joni remains defiant and determined. She suffered a brain aneurism in 2015 and, summoning the same spirit that enabled her to survive polio and walk again as a child, Joni has been slowly re-building her life and recently played her first live concert in over 25 years.
Astronaut and artist Nicole Stott celebrates the scientific and cultural legacy of the Hubble Space Telescope.
It's a mission that's influenced art, music and science-fiction.
Launched on 24 April 1990 and built to last 15 years, the $1.5 billion Hubble Space Telescope was a disaster. Most serious among a catalogue of flaws was a fault with the primary mirror.
Fortunately, the telescope had always been designed to be serviced in space and, after one of the most challenging and complex space walks in history, scientists downloaded the first new Hubble images.
The results were astounding.
Every week, Hubble delivers 140 gigabytes of science data back to Earth, transforming our view and knowledge of the universe. But what NASA didn’t foresee when it launched the telescope was its cultural legacy. Images from Hubble have appeared on album covers, video games, in movies and on clothing and jewellery.
In sci-fi films and TV shows released before Hubble, space was black with scattered stars. Now, movies are alive with swirling colours.
Pictures from the space telescope can be found on t-shirts, leggings and on desktop screensavers in almost every office across the world. U2, Pearl Jam and the Royal Philharmonic have used Hubble images to inspire their music.
Featuring composer Eric Whitacre and one of the astronauts who launched Hubble, Kathy Sullivan.
Plus archive interviews with astronauts and a wealth of newly remastered NASA archive.
Hubble has changed how we think of ourselves and our place in the universe. The telescope has given humanity a sense of the vastness of the cosmos but, nevertheless, connected us to it like never before.

Narrated by Martin Freeman, the episode also features insight on the new track from Sean Ono Lennon, Olivia Harrison and Peter Jackson.
In 1994, Yoko Ono gave Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr a selection of unfinished demo tapes recorded by John Lennon in the 1970s. Two of those songs, Free as a Bird and Real Love, were arranged and released on 1995's Beatles: Anthology project.
A third demo was never completed. At the time, the tape was deemed too muddy to work with. But, decades later, a new machine-assisted learning programme, pioneered by Get Back director Peter Jackson and his team, made Now and Then, the final Beatles single, possible – with each Beatle performing on the track.
Listen to the story of how it came about as Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and more reflect on the decades and discuss the making of the band's last song.
